Port St. Lucie Botanical Gardens - Rio Lindo Garden Club is a founding member of the new Gardens.  Rio Lindo Garden Club is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the Rose Garden at the Botanical Gardens, with regular monthly work sessions.  Participation by Club Members is mandatory and essential - minimum 2 hours yearly required.

Purchase and maintenance of four Moongate Arbors in the Rose Garden of the PSL Botanical Gardens, installing native and exotic climbing plants.

Florida Atala Butterfly Project - Rio Lindo Garden Club is promoting the revival in our area of this almost extinct butterfly species.  Their favorite host plant is the Coontie ornamental landscape plant. To get our members involved, on September 25, 2023, we invited Ken Gioeli, St. Lucie County UF/IFAS Extension Agent, to give us a presentation on the repopulation and history of this strikingly beautiful butterfly.  He even left us some Coontie seed pods for planting.  Therefore, our members have been given seeds to plant the slow growing Coontie in the hopes of attracting this illusive butterfly.  It can be found at Port St. Lucie Botanical Gardens currently, as well as in a few other areas in Port St. Lucie.
